The safety tips relate to staying safe out and about, written by young people;

Tips for staying safe

  • Stay in groups, but not in groups so large that you may actually feel intimidating to other people
  • Avoid walking in lonely alleyways, darker areas or places you have heard are not particularly safe
  • Do not carry around knives or other weapons for self-protection. If you feel intimidated, go to the police they are there to protect the public
  • Make sure your friends are OK to get home safely when you’ve been out and about. Text each other when you get home to check you have all got home OK.

Statement from Wigan LA

The appalling attack at the Manchester Arena earlier this week is currently being treated as a suspected terrorist incident. All our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones or been injured or traumatised. The police, hospitals, Council and emergency services are doing all they can to support them. As a Borough we will remain strong and it is more important than ever that our communities continue to support each other.
Our school leadership team will continue to ensure the safety of our children and security of our school building, and will remain vigilant at all times.
We appreciate these terrible events may be distressing for your children and the school community. We will remain open as usual and we appreciate your support in keeping the day as calm and normal as possible for the children. We have access to Counselling and support services should anybody require this.
As we receive further information from Wigan Council, we will update parents/carers via our website and Facebook.

  • Dinner money is £11 and needs to be paid on a Monday

  1. Well done to all the infants on their brilliant performance in the Christmas Nativity. The singing and dancing was amazing and the costumes looked fabulous. A big thank you to all the staff involved in making it a fantastic production. A big well done to Ethan for your spectacular present dance!
