Pupil Premium Policy
Our Pupil Premium for 2016/2017 is £1300 for every child who is entitled to Free School Meals and Hindsford CE School will spend/has spent that money on the following: one to one tuition, pastoral staff, summer school, Wigan Family Welfare Counselling Service, subsidies for school trips/visits, online maths tutoring, uniform.
The impact of the expenditure for 2015/16 can be found on the Performance Data tab for PPG pupils.
We are especially pleased with the progress that our children have made in the past when they have received one to one tuition or have attended summer school. Our tracking shows that we are closing the attainment gap for pupils who are eligible for PPG and that these pupils progress well.
We have a school counsellor from Wigan Family Welfare Services, who supports some of our children who may experience difficulties in life skills.
We know all children enjoy trips and visitors both to school and outside of school. We are therefore able to subsidise many of these learning experiences.
Additionally, PPG funding has enabled us to subsidise a teambuilding outdoor learning weekend for a Key Stage 2 class and also to provide the Letterbox scheme resource for all of our PPG children in the relevant year groups.
Pupils in receipt of PPG funding are considered within their cohort as a specific group and their performance data is responded to as part of whole school data reviews.
PPG spending and impact is further documented in our PPG register, which is reviewed half termly and updated termly.
This policy will be reviewed annually.
